Sarah’s Testimony

There is so much I can say about this trip, it is unbelievably evident how Gods hand was on it from the very beginning to the very end.

I could talk for hours about everything he did and not even scrape the surface but instead I’ll choose to talk about a special moment that happened to me. I’ve been on a missions trip to Cuba before and I knew that God would bring me back to Cuba soon. I knew that this particular trip was taylor made for me because it was geared towards children and children’s ministry. I don’t have children of my own but for those of you who know me know that I have a passion for children. It was the second night of the missions trip when It was my turn to share my testimony. My testimony really resonated with one person in particular named lisandra one of our translators. She was Touched and wanted to share her testimony with me. Lisandra suffers from a rare bone disease and at the age of 15 as a side effect was told she would never have children. Her friends and family didn’t sugarcoat things, they told her because of her infertility she would never find love, that no man would want to marry a woman who couldn’t give him children. She was devastated. However she never took her eyes off God In her situation. She Believed through faith that the God that spoke life into existence could speak life into her womb and because of that she decided to write letters to her unborn daughter which she named Debora. A few years later Lisandra did meet and Marry a loving husband and to everyone’s surprise and in God’s perfect timing they welcomed into the world their beautiful little miracle baby Deborah. After sharing my testimony Lisandra wanted to give me hope and that day Lisandra and the other translators ( Darlene and Sadie) pulled me aside in one of the bedrooms in the church we were at and wanted to pray over me. I don’t know what they were saying because they were praying in Spanish. But that didn’t matter because I knew the Holy Spirit was there, we all felt it as they prayed over me. We weren’t just crying, we were weeping and sobbing uncontrollably. As they prayed I felt Gods love wash over me like never before. I knew in that moment that in-spite of what I see, in spite of what I’ve been told and in spite what I feel that God has plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me hope and a future. It’s totally amazing how God works and how God touches us in ways we never thought of or expected. He placed it on my heart to go minister, serve and pray for the people of Cuba but he used this opportunity to minister to me as well. I’m so thankful for this opportunity to be a light in Cuba. Not Only did it bring me closer to my Kingsview family and my new family members in Cuba but it also brought me closer to God.

We can’t put a limit on God and what He can do. He can use us to serve and help others as well as use them to help and serve us at the same time. I’m so happy to serve such an amazing and perfect God! This experience has changed lives forever. All the praise and glory be to God!
